Adopt-a-Pet

Since our Board reorganization in late 2014 we have grown our presence and impact in and around Gloucester County!  Your support has helped us achieve the following:

2022 Highlights:

  • Provided approximately 1000 pounds and 20 cases of pet food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 576 animals
  • Facilitated the rescue / adoption of almost 50 animals through partnerships with shelters and rescues
  • Increased collaboration with area rescues and TNVR groups through joining the South Jersey Community Cat Coalition

2021 Highlights:

  • Provided approximately 2600 pounds and 90 cases of pet food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 577 animals
  • Facilitated the rescue / adoption of 78 animals through partnerships with shelters and rescues
  • Two more Gloucester County towns have TNVR ordinances for a total of 8, or 25% of the county.
  • We have established a strong working partnership with the Gloucester County Animal Shelter since the arrival of their new, progressive shelter director.  We are so excited for this opportunity!

2020 Highlights:

  • Provided over 1700 pounds and 85 cases of pet food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 186 animals
  • Another GC town has TNR ordinance bringing the total to 6.  Two other towns are currently in the process of evaluating ordinances.
  • Provided assistance to safely recover four lost cats.
  • Facilitated the adoption of 41 animals through partnerships with shelters and rescues

2019 Highlights:

  • Provided almost 800 pounds and 76 cases of pet food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 170 animals
  • Provided 5 days of successful dog training to prevent re-surrender of at risk dog.
  • One additional GC town has enacted a TNR ordinance bringing the total to 5.  Two other towns are currently in the process of evaluating ordinances.
  • Successfully recovered lost cat who escaped from pet adoption center in July

2018 Highlights:

  • Organized and Co-hosted Mayoral Campaign to educate the mayors and councils of all 24 Gloucester County Municipalities on TNR and why it works.  Provided PFA endorsed sample ordinances.
  • 4 GC towns have enacted TNR ordinances and two more are considering them
  • Provided over 1600 pounds and 80 cases of pet food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 67 animals

2017 Highlights:

  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 140 animals
  • Provided over 2000 pounds and 112 cases of pet food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Arranged temporary foster for senior dog in emergency situation – dog was eventually adopted
  • Instrumental in getting Gloucester County Freeholders to unanimously adopt TNR Resolution

2016 Highlights:

  • Provided comprehensive information on low cost vaccine services to each Gloucester County Municipality as part of a “licensing” PR campaign
  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 92 animals
  • Provided over 3800 pounds of dry food and 200 cases of canned food to pet owners in need of food support
  • Co-hosted two TNR Advocacy Workshops to help residents learn how to educate municipal leaders on the benefits of community supported TNR

2015 Highlights:

  • Helped spay or neuter and vaccinate 92 animals
  • Provided training for dog owners
  • Formed collaborative partnerships with C-Star Animal Care, the Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries Food Bank and People for Animals.
  • Built 24 high quality double insulated feral cat shelters (some are still available!)
