A cold rainy Sunday was actually the perfect day for about 20 volunteers to put together 24 high quality outdoor cat shelters. The nasty weather made everyone appreciate that outdoor cats need protection from the cold, wind and rain. And with these double insulated shelters some lucky outdoor cats in the Gloucester County region will get that protection.
What makes these shelters high quality? In a nutshell, it’s the materials and the construction. Two Sterilite© containers, foam core insulation board, blow-in insulation, rivets to keep the lid and top insulation in place, and a protective flap to keep out the rain and wind. These sturdy shelters are less likely to be effected by wind, and will keep cats warm and safe from the elements. See directions here.
PET SAVERS would like to thank Darren White for his excellent design and step by step instructions, and South Jersey Truck Repairs for the use of their garage for this fun volunteer event.
